Don't know about the rest of you guys in the Central, but here in Colo. lately there just aren't many birds. Had a bunch early in the first split. My boys and I probably killed more early season birds this year than any other, but it got cold quick, froze everything up, but I still don't see many birds on the river. More geese starting to arrive but where's all the supposed record number ducks? -8 here tonight, highs in the teens all week maybe is a factor? Maybe this recent weather maker will push some through?

Dalton, glad at least you will listen to me whine. Was -21 F this morning. Even the river is froze over now, what very few birds that may have been here surely left. No open water anywhere, snow covered fields, think our season is over.

hahahahahah -- boy that sounds all too familiar. My freezer consists of a pig of a hen spooner (my 8 year old's first bird out of the air with his .410), a hen common goldeneye, and a hen greenwing. Good luck at the powerplant, probably the only open water in the Central Flyway. On a better note, I did see a flock of bruiser Canadas start to use one of my fields of corn today at 2:30 when our heat wave hit 8 above. Nice to visit with you Dalton!
